What is the CFMM Course?

The Certified Facility Management Manager (FMM) certification is the mandatory Level 5 accreditation for professionals like you who are ready to oversee teams, budgets, and entire facility life cycles.

This course is specifically designed to bridge that gap, equipping you with the high-level competencies in financial planning, risk governance, contract management, and strategic compliance that CIDB mandates for a management role.

Who is CIDB?

The Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) is the statutory body established under Act 520 to regulate and develop the Malaysian construction industry.

They are the government authority under the Ministry of Works that sets the standards, rules, and direction for how the construction industry operates.

This is the highest authority in the construction industry including Facility Management, making the certification highly credible and recognized.

Why is CFMM required?

1. It’s the Law.

The CIDB Act 520 (Amendment 2011) explicitly mandates that any individual holding a managerial role in facility management must possess the corresponding level of accreditation. The CFMM (Facility Management Manager) is that specific accreditation for Level 5 leadership.

2. It Protects the Public and Your Organization.

The CFMM certification confirms your competency to make critical financial and operational decisions, mitigate risks potentially leading to fires or structural failures, and ensure compliance with MSQH, Bomba, and DOSH regulations.

Unlike a course completion certificate, it is a license to take on legal and professional responsibilities.

3. It’s Your Key to Major Projects and Career Advancement.

For large-scale projects such as government, healthcare, or high-rise developments, a valid CFMM accreditation is essential for the appointed Facility Manager.

Lack of this accreditation leads to disqualification from project leadership, while possessing it allows access to senior roles and higher salary opportunities.

4. It Standardizes Excellence Across the Industry.

For large-scale projects such as government, healthcare, or high-rise developments, a valid CFMM accreditation is essential for the appointed Facility Manager.

Lack of this accreditation leads to disqualification from project leadership, while possessing it allows access to senior roles and higher salary opportunities.
